Music has played an important role in the Catholic Church for centuries. At St. Robert School, we continue its role as a part of weekly liturgy and the overall education.
Music instructions are offered to students at each grade level. Students receive at least 30 minutes of instructions per week.
Our music curriculum allows students to learn about the basic elements of music – such as pitch, rhythm, and harmony – as well as the scriptural songs and biblical stories. Students learn to read music as well as to appreciate the cultural and seasonal nuances, such as the songs sung during Easter and Christmas. Students also learn both traditional hymns and tunes – including Latin chant – and contemporary music.
In addition, our music curriculum provides students with the opportunity to lead the congregation at St. Robert Catholic Church in song during its weekly liturgies.
